About

Sherpa Kids offers good quality childcare at an affordable price., Working on a child-carer ratio of 15:1 in the UK, compared to the standard UK ratio of 30:1, it delivers a ‘fresh and vibrant’ approach to childcare – and aims to “give children such a great time that they do not want to go home!”.

In addition to offering activities, ranging from arts and crafts to sports and cookery, Sherpa Kids also capitalises on its international connections by, for example, encouraging Sherpa children from Australia to send postcards to children in England, to learn about life on the other side of the world.

Sherpa Kids currently operates in schools in London. All of these clubs are run by dedicated franchisees, carefully selected by the company.

By using a franchise model, Sherpa Kids’ clubs not only benefit from the local knowledge of the provider, they also contribute to the economic and employment prospects of local communities since all decision-making is done at local level by franchise owners and franchisees are encouraged to source products locally. The franchisees also determine pricing, opening hours and programme structure to meet local needs.

Our typical weekly theme is explored each day through activities:

  • Monday – Art and Craft
  • Tuesday – Music and Drama
  • Wednesday – Sport and Games
  • Thursday – Cooking and Technology
  • Friday – Fun Day

Not only do our activities provide fun and variety to prevent repetition and boredom – they are also structured to deliver beneficial outcomes for the children of all ages. They  start with the principles of the Early Years Foundation … Foundation Stage (EYFS)  and are adapted to meet the needs of older, maturing children.

Our planned activities are complemented with generous periods for free play so that a typical day at a Sherpa Kids After School club might look like this:

  • 3:20pm – 4:00pm – Registration, let-off steam with free play (outdoors weather permitting) and recharge with a healthy snack.
  • 4:00pm – 4:30pm – Supervised homework or quiet activity if no homework set.
  • 4:30pm – 5:15pm – Planned fun activity of the day – exploring the theme of the week.
  • 5:15pm – 5:45pm – Free play (outdoors weather/light permitting).
  • 5:45pm – 6:00pm – Tidy up, quiet time before final collection.
